Yeah, that was a fun one to write. And and we love a song with a key change. We had we had written it before then [The babygirl movie]. We had actually written it before then, but it was kind of I thought it was kind of fun. Like a fun coincidence, because it’s a very different way of using the idea of a father figure to kind of talk about power power structures and the flipping of the power dynamics. 
I would say that lyrically I had such a blast writing this record because each song is like, it’s own sort of choose your own adventure. Each song feels like an era of it’s own, it’s just a very dramatic, sweeping, epic record full of twelve songs, but each one really packs a punch and each one is really it’s own kind of movie, but the ‘Father Figure’ lyrics are my favorite. I remember just writing the lyrics just like sitting there just being like, “Heheh, heheheh.” It’s the stuff that I’ve always wanted to say. The first line of the second verse is like my favorite in terms of a visual, like, you think about what it means and then you realize it’s just like, a very descriptive way to say something. And I love that line, and I also love the key-change chorus lyrics It’s just, it was a blast to write, I, I love like, stepping into a character like that.

가사적으로는, 이 앨범을 쓰면서 정말 신나게 작업했어요. 각 곡이 마치 ‘나만의 모험을 선택하는’ 느낌처럼 독립적인 분위기를 가지고 있고, 각각의 곡이 저마다 하나의 시대를 느끼게 해요. 12곡이 담긴 앨범 전체가 굉장히 드라마틱하고 장대한 레코드지만, 각각의 곡이 강렬한 임팩트를 가지고 있고, 마치 영화 한 편 같은 느낌이죠. 그중에서도 ‘Father Figure’ 가사가 제일 마음에 들어요.
가사를 쓸 때 앉아서 그냥 “헤헤” 웃으면서 썼던 기억이 나요. 항상 하고 싶었던 말들을 담은 곡이죠. 2절 첫 줄은 특히 시각적으로 가장 좋아하는 부분이에요. 그 의미를 생각하다 보면, 사실 굉장히 묘사적이면서도 어떤 메시지를 전하는 방식이라는 걸 알게 돼요. 그 줄을 정말 좋아하고, 키 체인지가 있는 코러스 가사도 너무 좋아요.
정말 즐겁게 쓴 곡이에요. 이렇게 캐릭터에 몰입해서 곡을 쓰는 걸 정말 좋아하거든요.
